This week, Fraser’s the one being offered up as a sacrifice to the cruel gods of Early Access. He’s been flung back through time to live his best serf life in GolemLab’s medieval sim, The Guild 3 [official site].   

Being a freelance video game man, I suffer from a great deal of existential dread, and it’s proved to be too much for me, so I’ve packed it all in to start fresh in The Guild 3’s recreation of 15th century London. In my new and improved life, I’m Carlton Bloomer, a rogue, a pickpocket and a feckless ne’er-do-well. Join me as I try to rise to the top of medieval English society using my quick fingers and juggling skills.

The PC games of 2017 mega-preview

As Old Father Time grabs his sickle and prepares to take ailing 2016 around the back of the barn for a big sleep, we’re looking to the future. The mewling pup that goes by the name 2017 will come into the world soon and we must prepare ourselves for its arrival. Here at RPS, our preparations come in the form of this enormous preview feature, which contains details on more than a hundred of the exciting games that are coming our way over the next twelve months. 2016 was a good one – in the world of games at least – but, ever the optimists, we’re hoping next year will be even better.

The Guild 3 Has Many Tiny Cyberpeople Judging You

“It’s not a great game but it’s one of those games that I always hope will spawn a great sequel,” our Adam said when he asked Have You Played… The Guild 2? That day may be coming, as The Guild 3 [official site] is coming. It’ll bring more economic strategy fun with a side of family life and social simming. Publishers Nordic Games actually announced The Guild 3 yonks ago but if there’s one thing I’ve learned about video games, it’s that if I don’t see them in the woods they aren’t being made. And, trust me, I spend a lot of time in the woods. So let’s talk virtuafolks!
