John-Approved Adventuring: Inner World Sequel In 2017

“It’s obvious that a great deal of love has gone into The Inner World,” our John said in reviewing the adventure game, “because a great deal of it comes back out again as you play.” He really liked it, see. Good news, Johnno!

As there’s no better time or place to announce an adventure game than Gamescom, publishers Headup Games today announced a sequel. It’s named The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk [official site] and it’s due in 2017. For now, a wee teaser trailer:

Wot I Think: The Inner World

Germany really is the country that cares the most about adventure games today. With companies like Daedalic and King Art lovingly creating multiple entries to the genre, they may not match the perfection of LucasArts (indeed, they may be riddled with flaws and translations issues), but they’re damned well trying. And now add Studio Fizbin, with a fantastic little game, The Inner World. Here’s wot I think.
