The RPS Bargain Bucket: You Orc To Hear This

I’m a seething ball of impatience this weekend, guys. Next week, I get to be on a press release. On a press release. Not writing one, not writing about one, but actually functioning as content on someone’s press release. It isn’t particularly Big News, but it is, at the very least, Moderately Sized News. Pardon me while I snoopy dance. In the meantime, have some bargains in a bucket. And a heart-warming story from the owner of this week’s plushie aka Andrew Wheeler. His ferocious orc, it would seem, was purchased before he and his girlfriend could move in together. He ventured far and wide to find an orc that wasn’t very typical, before having something delivered from Etsy. Charmingly, the doll maker included the custom-built helmet you saw without being asked to do so.

The RPS Bargain Bucket: Fluffy Thoughts

One of the sad realities of hitting your 30s is understanding that you’ll be talking your friends through some genuinely complicated situations, ranging from divorces to parental deaths. I’m sorting out the emotional ramifications of this epiphany right now, and it’s not a pleasant one. At least you can be there for the people you care about. Something something. This throwback plushie is from MadKatrina. Someone send me more!

The RPS Bargain Bucket: Frozen-satche

And I am freshly returned from Iceland, more or less intact. The foul weather only cost a single toe, although the locals were happy to replace it with a puffin claw. As such things go, it could have been worse – and I’m thrilled to discover all the world’s gaming sales didn’t cease during my absence. Enjoy this week’s Bargain Bucket and also this dapper plushie from dosbox!

The RPS Bargain Bucket: Carebear Glare

Iceland is, as you might have guessed, a cold place. I admit that, at the time of writing, I am still toying with the idea of asking Pip to sit in a bucket for me. She is almost adorable enough to be a plushie. But I lack intense witticisms to share today, thanks to a drastic absence of sleep. In lieu of thoughtful statements, have a bunch of cheap games – which is almost as good as bits of relative cleverness, ain’t it? (P.S: I can now segregate between ponces and fops, courtesy of British journalists.) Unfortunately, prices today will most likely be a bit (or incredibly) off, thanks to the absence of working Hola.

The Bargain Bucket: PAX Hungover

I am fresh back from PAX! Which, I might note, was an absolutely bizarre experience. Who knew that not running around like a headless chicken could be so exhausting? Never had I imagined that being stationary, while endlessly repeating the same lines over and over, could be such a challenge. (Seriously, being an exhibitor is tough work. I salute those who have done it repeatedly.) Of course, after having survived the ordeal AND PAX plague, I will soon be off to Iceland where I will freeze to death. Sigh.

So, how has your week been? Ignoring everything else, mine’s awesome because we have a guest plushie! His/her name is Schwein. It enjoys sunshine, unicorns, sleep, and Don’t Starve. (Thanks for the submission, Lene & D3c0n!)

The RPS Bargain Bucket: Help, GDC Is Here

In two days, I will be on a plane for 36 hours. I am going to be very sad. Shortly after that, I will be doing my first exhibition at PAX East. Which is alternately both terrifying and kind of amazing. (I think.) So, just a short column this week because my brain is steaming like the air vents in Alien: Isolation. But I will see all of you soon. Not next week, unfortunately. But the week after that. (Apologies for the week before. Chinese New Year is murderous.) This week’s repost plushie is from dosbox!

(Wish me luck surviving the next week.)

The RPS Bargain Bucket: Valentine’s Dough

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone celebrating it, and to those who are not otherwise entranced by this commercialism of affection, enjoy it as International Book Giving Day! (This is your cue to leave your Amazon wishlists in the comments so others can think about randomly giving you a shiny. I might randomly give you a shiny. Who knows?) Either way, enjoy this week’s bucket, each other, and the fact you are alive and well. Today’s adorable repost plushie is brought to you by Angel Tear and the number 12.
