To The Moon becoming an animated movie

Kan Gao’s tearjerker To The Moon, a game which affected our John so much that he still daren’t open the curtains on clear nights lest he be swept away in a torrent of his own tears, is becoming a full-length animated movie. It’s the story of doctors travelling through the memories of a dying man (with the aid of a fancy machine), seeing his life and creating new memories so he can have sort-of lived his dying wish: visiting the moon. At this point, John is hammering on the door as a brook flows down his body, so I imagine we’ll need to employ Ludovico Technique eyespreaders to make him watch it.

Tomb Raider movie reveals Alicia Vikander’s Lara

The best moment in cinematic history is, of course, any time a character says the title of the movie they’re in. This is the main reason I am excited for a Tomb Raider movie. At some point, surely someone will say in reverent tones “You’re… the Tomb Raider”.

Myself, I’m hoping Lara will rebuff accusations of grave robbery with “Please, my father was the Grave Robber. Call me the Tomb Raider.”

Oh, right, yes, the ‘news’: Warner Bros. have shared the first snaps of their movie based loosely on the gritty 2013 reboot, along with a blurb hinting at a “tomb raider” shoutout. Read the rest of this entry »

Firewatch Movie Being Made By Oldboy Producers

Sorry, it’s the US remake of Oldboy, starring Josh Brolin. Still, didn’t see that coming, did you? Yes, the creators of countryside hike-em-up Firewatch [official site] have partnered with production company Good Universe to make a movie about the game, as well as work together on future projects, says the Hollywood Reporter. There aren’t many details about the movie itself, or what these ‘future projects’ might be, but come and read some exciting soundbites from all the people involved!
