Other Things You Could Do With That Warcraft Franchise

There’s a Warcraft movie on the horizon. I know this because I saw a trailer for it while I was at a screening of Captain America: Civil War. I didn’t remember much except a dude landed on an eagledoglion- possibly a griffon. PROBABLY A GRIFFON. Also there was a green baby. Thus it was that I went back and watch a whole wodge of trailers and things to find out more. I have gathered that there is a war between humans-looking people and orcs. Also an Odd Couple kind of love plot maybe.

But what ELSE could you do with the franchise? What treats might future screen visits to Azeroth yield? I am going to look at the medium of reality television for potential WoW-ing.

CGI Orcs: Peek At Warcraft Movie’s Orgrim Doomhammer

Curious about what the CGI orcs – and the legendary Orgrim Doomhammer in particular – will look like in the upcoming Warcraft movie? As you may have guessed, he’ll look a lot like the picture above, as Wired revealed. Like a big, muscular orc. But with a sparkle in his eyes that says there’s a sweet, sensitive side hidden in there somewhere.

Such WoW, So Movie: World Of Wacraft Film Delayed

It's about these guys, both played by Colin Farrell.

The Warcraft movie has been rattling around Hollywood for years. First we were afraid, we were petrified, but rumours that Uwe Boll was going to make the movie turned out not to be true. Then Evil Dead/Spider-Man director Sam Raimi was attached to direct, but had to drop out due to other commitments, and we kept thinking we could never live without him by our side. Then Duncan Jones, the director of Moon and Source Code and a PC gamer, took over the project, and we knew we would not crumble.

It’s taken all the strength we’ve had not to fall apart, though now the movie has been delayed further into March 2016, to make way for Star Wars’ December 2015 release.
