Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy cast revealed
Groot stamping on a human face forever
Below you'll find the first screenshots from what we must refer to as Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series [official site], to avoid any possible confusion arising from the existence of The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: A James Gunn Sequel. In Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Groot is not a baby, whereas in The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: A James Gunn Sequel, Groot is a baby.
The cast list for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series has also been released and, oddly, Adam Harrington is playing Groot. You might remember that in The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1: A James Gunn Movie, Vin Diesel played Groot, which involved saying "Groot" over and over again. I'd have sample that. I bet Vin would love to be in another game, following Atari's The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena: A Riddick Chronicle.
Here's the cast announcement:
"The series will feature a star-studded cast of voice talent, including Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O'Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot."
I'm surprised that Nolan North is involved but isn't voicing Star-Lord. I've never read a Guardians comic but the combination of haplessness and cockiness that Pratt's version of the character displayed all seemed a bit Nathan Drake to me. It's a good kind of surprise though - I don't want every North to be Nathan North. Turns out he's done Rocket before in Disney Infinity 2.0.

You might be able to learn more about the adventures of the Guardians by watching Telltale's PAX panel, where they talked about interactive storytelling. I couldn't tell you what it contains because it's an hour long and I'm not allowed to watch videos at work, unless they explicitly contain in-game footage related to my job.
There are also some details about the story in the press release, which we may have seen before, but I reckon are worth repeating:
"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is a brand new story of the universe's unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands."
Switch around names and pronouns a little and I reckon this could be the plot of every silly sci-fi game, book and film I've ever encountered.
