Off-Peak Creator Releasing The Norwood Suite In Spring

Weird hotel wandering

I enjoyed exploring Off-Peak's train station, a curious place 'curated' with curios like a Tumblr or Pinterest by its sinister station master, so I'm quite keen to see more of what developer Cosmo D's next game. The Norwood Suite [official site] will take us to a weird hotel, ostensibly to deliver a package but really to have a bloody good rummage and poke into the lives of its staff and guests. Good news: a new trailer gives us a peek inside the hotel's walls. Bad news: it also says the game's not due until spring 2017.

I peeked through my fingers while watching that trailer because I want plenty of surprises, okay. You can't make me spoil this for myself. Here's a little from Cosmo D about what you've seen there:

"You're asked to deliver a package to a guest staying at an old hotel. This hotel is full of unusual characters, with secrets and motivations of their own. Some stand in your way, others want to help you out, but it's up to you to figure out who you can trust. The only way to do that is, simply, by listening to them."

Good. Great. I'm up for this. My mind still wanders to Off-Peak every now and then. Have you played it? You should play it. It's free from Itch. Though I still don't know what I was thinking about when I compared its stairs to That Ladder Bit in Metal Gear Solid 3. Not that it's not a great staircase experience! But honestly, Alice.
