These 16GB Corsair RAM kits are down to £60 / $60 right now

Plus, some very cheap 3600MHz kits, too.

If your PC's in need of some more RAM, then there are some great deals to be had on a number of RPS Rig-approved 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX kits at the moment in both the UK and the US. The UK deals come courtesy of Amazon, where you'll find a 16GB RAM kit clocked at 3200MHz for £60 right now, as well as a pair of 3600MHz modules for an all-time low of just £65, while US buyers can get another 16GB kit clocked at a still decent 3200MHz for $60 over at Newegg.

Corsair's Vengeance LPX RAM is a good starting point for any would-be RAM buyers. For starters, Corsair are one of the best RAM manufacturers in the business, and their entry-level Vengeance LPX DDR4 kits don't have any flashy RGBs getting in the way, either. Instead, they have a plain black design that's nice and low-key, making them a good buy for anyone with an intense aversion to rainbow lighting schemes.

There are actually two good deals going on in the UK at the moment, as Amazon have cut the price of the aforementioned 3600MHz kit in addition to a slightly cheaper 3200MHz version. Personally, the 3600MHz is the one I'd probably go for, as it's only another five quid over the 3200MHz model and has a much bigger overall saving. The 3600MHz kit has yo-yoed between £88 and £74 over the last few months, but this is the first time it's fallen as low as £65 in absolutely yonks. The 3200MHz one, on the other hand, has dropped to £60 quite a lot recently, making it feel less special as a result. They're still both very good deals, though, and are well worth considering if you're in need of some new RAM.

For those buying in the US, though, then there's a great saving on the 3200MHz kit over at Newegg right now, which is down to $60. Newegg will tell you that's a saving of $38 compared to its usual price, but trust me, it hasn't cost that much in absolutely ages.

Still, it remains a good price for would-be RAM buyers, although again, it's probably worth paying the little bit extra to get the 3600MHz kit for $64. It's also cheaper than other LPX kits Newegg have for sale at the moment as well, as they've also got a 16GB 3000MHz kit for $69 for some reason, and a 16GB 2933MHz model for even more at $70.

As I've noted on previous occasions, 16GB is a good amount of RAM to aim for when building a new PC these days. 8GB is just about enough for a modern day gaming PC if you’re on a really tight budget, but 16GB gives you more leeway for things like streaming, having a web browser open at the same time as your game, and running other programs in the background like Discord and Spotify. 32GB of RAM, meanwhile, is a bit overkill for most people, and is only really necessary for hardcore sim games. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 lists 32GB of RAM in its ‘ideal’ PC spec, admittedly, but still only ‘recommends’ 16GB.

Still, if you do want to kit out your PC with 32GB of RAM for MFS 2020, buying two sets of the LPX RAM linked above is much cheaper than buying a pair of 16GB modules right now. For example, Newegg have a 32GB (2x 16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX set clocked at 3000MHz for $130, while Amazon UK have a 3200MHz kit for £136. Just make sure your motherboard has four available RAM slots that aren’t obscured by your CPU cooler and you’re good to go.
