The Directors Guild of America podcast, The Director’s Cut, ticks two important boxes for me. One: it’s a ‘making of’ interview that goes beyond the usual promotional fluff, mainly because it’s film directors interviewing other directors. Two: each episode is around 30 minutes long, which is the rough time it takes me to haul my ass up the hill to fellow RPS vid bud Alice’s house. That I can enjoy a rigorous workout (it’s a motherfucker of a hill) and find out what Daniel Day Lewis was like on the set of Phantom Thread at the same time earns a big thumbs up from me.
