Screens give and screens take

The screen is my friend. The screen is my enemy. The screen is where I turn to for distraction and company, the screen is how I alienate myself from the world around me. Why do I seem to need it so? I lived the first two decades of my life only looking at a screen sometimes - I have spent the second almost-two decades looking at it almost all the time. Blame broadband, blame smartphones, blame everyone else doing it too, but most of all, blame myself.
