Pride vs overheating: a story about PCs
Never stop never stopping
As I mentioned last week, I finally upgraded my PC's heart - a new processor and motherboard beat within the old case. As is inevitable in the world of self-building (particularly if you're as corner-cutting, slapdash and miserly as me), not everything went smoothly. It all works, but the chip's running at over 80 degrees C whenever it's busy, and given that Britain is currently experiencing its three annual days of Summertime, that means my work room is like a Turkish sauna. All humidity has been bled from the air, my plants need watering four times a day and the inside of my nostrils feel like sandpaper.
Cooling: always my nemesis.
