Why, yes, I will be buying Xenoblade Chronicles for the third time when it comes out on Switch

I'm really feeling it!

Hello, my name is Katharine and I'm a Xenoblade Chronicles addict. It is, secretly, the best game of the last ten years (all right, second best after Breath of the Wild), and the upcoming release of Xenoblade Chronicles' Definitive Edition on May 29th on the Nintendo Switch will be the third time I've bought this exquisite action JRPG, and I actually cannot wait. I played it and loved it the first time on the Nintendo Wii, and played it and loved it again when Nintendo and the wizards over at Monolith Soft shrunk it down for the New 3DS - and if it means I can listen to the majestic strings and thumping drums of the incredible Gaur Plain pumping out of my TV again (now fully remastered, I might add), then I will happily play it and love it all over again when it comes to the Switch. It's Reyn time, baby!

Katharine Castle: Katharine was RPS' editor-in-chief from 2021 to 2024. She first joined the team in 2017 as their hardware editor, and she continues to play pretty much anything she can get her hands on. She's very partial to JRPGs and the fetching of quests, but also loves strategy and turn-based tactics games and will never say no to a good Metroidvania.
