Heaven’s Vault is best when you treat it as alien Duolingo

We’ve had a couple of peeks at Heaven’s Vault, the archeological lingo ‘em up from the makers of 80 Days. Like Alice, I’m excited. It’s about scrabbling through alien dirt for old relics and learning an ancient language. It’s also about becoming friends with a robot, even though he’s a highfalutin twit who is way too fond of the word “evidently” to the extent that he definitely doesn’t know what it means and is just using it to look smart. But enough about him. I’ve learned the ancient word for “nothing” and this has made me more eager than any trailer for whatever explosive blockbuster is coming next. It also belongs firmly in the “needs a notepad” genre. Which is a brilliant and real genre, shut up.
