First Of Three StarCraft II Mission Packs Out This Month

Nova Covert Ops out March 29

StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops [official site] is the three-part single-player standalone StarCraft II mission pack that was announced at BlizzCon last year. Back then, a vague "Spring 2016" release date was attached to the first installment, however Blizzard have now confirmed March 29 as launch day for those living Stateside, and March 30 for Europe.

Set after the events of Legacy of the Void, the first Nova Covert Ops mission pack will have you assume control of Nova Terra - the ghost from StarCraft II: Wings of Libery - in her plight to save the Dominion. You're the most powerful psionic stealthing ghost around these parts, see, meaning you'll be tasked with infiltrating enemy bases, getting to grips with experimental technology, and intercepting planetary invasions - while you trial new gear and new load-out features - among other "top-secret operations." All in a day's work, I'm sure. Let's have another look at last year's reveal trailer:

The Nova Covert Ops missions packs are split into three installments, which come with three missions each. I almost ran out of fingers just then, but I'm certain that's nine all told. As the packs are standalone, you need not already own StarCraft or StarCraft II.

Here's what the official blurb has to say for itself:

"The reign of Emperor Valerian Mengsk is under threat. Along with facing political opposition, several Dominion ghosts have gone missing in action while under his rule. Their trail leads to a secretive Terran group, the Defenders of Man.

"As Nova Terra, a psionic ghost trained to be the perfect covert operative, you must delve into the conspiracy before it’s too late for the Terran Dominion."

The Starcraft II: Nova Covert Ops mission bundle costs $22.47/£17.97 at full price over on Battle.net, with the first pack due from March 29 onward. All three mission packs are expected to release by December 1 this year.
