Have You Played... Starwhal?

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game recommendations. One a day, every day of the year, perhaps for all time.

Starwhal [official site] - a game where you play as a space narwhal trying to stab other space narwhals in the heart. There's also a single player challenge mode which I dip into occasionally but the meat of the game is the competition aspect. Tusks jamming into aortas as you waggle about the arena.

That's pretty much all there is to it but it's so satisfying and tense. It's a favourite party game because it's simple and ridiculous and neon and because it slows time just the right amount when your tusk strays near another narwhal's heart - will you stab or will you miss?

It's also a favourite because I win. That almost never happens. I sometimes lose impressively or with style but with Starwhal I WIN and people are scared of me.

So yes. You should play it, even if it's only I have more people to beat because it's great.
