Don't Starve: Shipwrecked Paddles Out Of Early Access

*checks date*

It's all just bloody lies, isn't it? :(

Let's write about something that happened at the end of yesterday instead. Yesterday is safe. Don't Starve's [official site] single-player expansion Don't Starve: Shipwrecked came out of early access.

I feel like coming out of early access is a symbolic thing, mostly. Like, it's the games equivalent of a debutante ball. You get a launch trailer and people say your name on websites and you're a grown up game now. With that in mind, let us watch Don't Starve: Shipwrecked glide down the fancy staircase in its launch trailer and do whatever else you do at debutante balls. Probably try and choose between dancing with Nate or Dan or Chuck Bass? ANYWAY:

The expansion is a partnership between the Don't Starve devs, Klei Entertainment, and Capy (them off Super Time Force) and from the trailer it looks just as happy to kill you as the core game. I stopped playing Don't Starve when *that* was in early access after an incident with bees which I detailed in the cheery RPS fanzine, PC Gamer. As a result I haven't any tips or tricks to share with you apart from leaving bees the hell alone unless you know what you're doing.

Here is the official summary of Shipwrecked in case you are a) better at Don't Starve than me or b) interested anyway:

In Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, Wilson finds himself stranded in a tropical archipelago. He must learn to survive all over again in this new environment filled with new biomes, seasons, and creatures.

Don’t let the tropical breeze lull you into a false sense of security - the world might be different, but it is still equal parts unforgiving and uncompromising. You will quickly find these islands are full to the brim with things that want to kill you.

'Tis on Steam, Humble (for a Steam key) and GOG.
