Groundhog Die: Sandbox Timeloop 'Em Up Garbage Day

What would you do in a nightmarish time loop where every day is the same? Same thing as we do every other damn day I guess. Top jokes, Alice. But what about in a Groundhog Day-style scenario where every day is the same day, and you will always wake up in your bed with everything the way it was, no matter what you do? Garbage Day [IndieDB page] might help you explore that idea.

It's an upcoming sandbox FPS trapped in a time loop, everything being wiped away when your alarm goes off. A trailer is jolly heavy on the ole ultraviolence, but does tease a little more.

Solo developer Zemaitis Svajunas explains on Garbage Day's Steam Greenlight page:

"In this game you have to explore and interact to find out how to get out of the time loop. You are open to do anything you want, kill innocent people, go to work, watch tv, go to the park, etc. I don't want to spoil anything, but you'll be surprised how open ended this game is."

I am quite keen to be surprised by that. The gore and ultraviolence - swords, guns, vehicular homicide, dismemberment, destructible buildings, and all that - is probably a lark for a while, but I want to see quite how much you can dick about with the loops, how much remembered discoveries will shape subsequent days. I dig the sound of exploring, and living out daily mundanities like showering, chatting, eating breakfast, and going to work. And, obviously, I want to visit that pond.

Also I want to do cool murders. I'm really good at them. You don't even know.

No word yet on when the game will be ready, but here's a trailer:

(The name is a reference to this infamous scene from Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2, right?)
