Groovy: Rhythmic Platformer Inside My Radio Announced

A jumping tour of musical styles

Ever since learning from Björk that televisions are like little cities taking care of electrons, I've fancied wandering around mine's streets. Not quite there, but perhaps close enough, is Inside My Radio. Announced yesterday, it's a rhythmic platformer set inside a broken booming box, where your little radio-headed chap needs to jump and dash and slam in time with the beat of the soundtrack. No wonder the electrons need so much supervision and support, if that's the kind of nonsense they get up to.

Each world of the game is based on a different musical genre, with electro and disco named so far, and each level within those a bit different too. In my magical dream world, this could give interesting lessons in music history and subgenres. The evolution of girl groups! Punk's protos and posts! The many regional scenes of blues! At the very least, it means that if the music's not to your taste, hey, it'll change soon.

Inside My Radio is the second game from developers Seaven Studio, following mousy platformer Ethan: Meteor Hunter. I can't say I've played it, but reviews seem lukewarm. Still, that was then, and this is now. And this is Inside My Radio:
