Self-Indulgent Birthday Minecraft Cake Post

By John Walker on October 28th, 2010 at 12:30 am.

I'm gonna eat ya little piggy.

Just to say, my girlfriend is best of all the girlfriends.

But I’m also convinced that there must be other game related cakes that people have had and, ideally, photographed. So post links below, and I’ll magic them into images in the comments. Thus we will win at the internet.

Unless no one does, and then I’ll look stupid.

NB: The cake was designed before the announcement of the new biomes. An update to this cake will be made available from November 1st.

  1. Ignorant Texan says:

    Happy Birthday, Mr Walker!!

  2. Rinox says:

Happy birthday and tasty biomes to you sir!

Your girlfriend is made of awesome (and presumably, cake-baking magic).

  3. omicron says:

Do you know, are there more girlfriends where you got yours? And how much do they cost?

In all seriousness, that cake is awesome. You are a very fortunate man with a very tolerant gal. And if she plays, too? Icing on the cake (so to speak)

    • Temple to Tei says:

Wait for Lewie on Saturday, he can always gets you a cheap deal. Usually on something you don’t know you want.

  4. Neosubu says:

    Happy birthday!
And that is an EPIC win on your girlfriends part, let her know =)

  5. Alex Bakke says:

Are those marshmallow tree-leaves? If so, marry this woman post-haste.

    (Happy Birthday)

P.S. I have literally only received one birthday cake that was hand-made, and that was a giant Bourbon Cream.

  6. MuscleHorse says:

    Happy Birthday John John.

My snap isn’t a cake but it’s girlfriend/birthday related. She put more effort into it than any stupid cake and so is better.

    PS, I’m Richard.

  7. Paul S. says:

Bloody hell! That’s a deeply impressive cake.

  8. Daniel Klein says:

Argh! Every time I have something relevant to post here, I feel like what I’m doing is awkwardly close to spamming. But still!

We ran a contest around “cook something League of Legends related” a little while back and almost all of the entries were cakes. And DELICIOUS! I know because a crazy fan of ours traveled to Cologne from the UK just to deliver this cake to me:

It was oh so delicious. And sugary.

But all of these were awesome. And most of them were cakes:

  9. DoucheMullet says:

Oh lord Jesus Christ, can we go one day without five minecraft posts.

  10. bob_d says:

No one loves me enough to make me such a cake.

  11. Serenegoose says:

My girlfriend once baked me a companion cake, but alas, no photographic evidence for it exists. But it was bigger than my head and had strawberry in it. :)

  12. Hmm-Hmm. says:

Congratulations once more, John! That looks like a fine cake.

  13. Ricc says:

    Happy Birthday, Mr. Walker! :)

*Insert something about digestion and Creepers here.*

  14. stahlwerk says:

Happy Birthday, and mad congrats on a cake well boken… baken… baked. Anyway, it is of the art.

Bak’d. Cakegasm? What a cake. Old men, running the world.

  15. MuscleHorse says:

My comment with picture is awaiting moderation – I don’t believe this has happened to me before. Has something gone wrong? It’s been like that for a while :(

  16. Durkan says:

  17. Phydeaux says:

I’m rather a fan of flight sims :-)

This unexpectedly resulted in a tasty surprise:

  18. Fede says:

    Happy Birthday, John!

  19. Flobulon says:

That is a most excellent cake.
    Hepty Turfday, Jihn!

  20. Sarkhan Lol says:

Ugh, yet another example of growing RPS pro-cake bias. Everyone refresh your browsers over and over again until these fascist spin-doctors agree to our demands, let’s bring this journalistic dictatorship to its KNEES!

  21. perilisk says:

Protip: Put a ring on it.

  22. Arathain says:

A very happy birthday to you, Mr Walker. I am delighted it includes cake, and to have such a fine specimen is icing on the… hrm…

  23. Bluebreaker says:

    Is that edible? =P

  24. Web Cole says:

    Happy birthday John!

Ok, so its not my cake, but this comments thread is looking a bit on the stingy side so far:

I thought that was rather splendid :)

  25. Zerrick says:

    Happy birthday, Mr. Walker.
And don’t dig too deep into that cake, you could lose your diamond fork.

  26. Hobbes says:

    Happy boifday Mr Walker!

  27. Maykael says:

The happiest of birthdays, John! Hope you’ll enjoy that cake block by block. :D

  28. badvibration says:

I love the candles being used as torches.

  29. Gabe McGrath says:

Back in 1998, when I didn’t have a digital camera, nor reliable internet access, by partner (now wife) ordered me the most AWESOME birthday surprise.

A giant ‘Player ship from Galaga’ chocolate mud cake.

Alas, I am fail. I didn’t not get a photo.
    Fail Fail Fail.

So John, please grab one of these images, post it here, and the hivemind can just imagine it rendered in heart-attack inducing chocolate mudcake.

  30. Shadram says:

    Happy Birthday!
Nobody’s made me a fancy cake since I was 12. :( I’m the cake baker in my group of friends (a tradition I really wish I hadn’t started…) but none of them are really gamers, so I’ve not made anything game related. I did make a cat cake, though:
It’s rubbish, but an artist I am not.

  31. El Stevo says:

Oh lord Jesus Christ, can we go one year without it being John’s birthday.

  32. bleeters says:

    …are those little candle torches?

  33. Nick says:

Happy Birthday John, and great cake.

  34. Hamstronomy says:

    No explosive creepers?

  35. Farsearcher says:

    Happy Birthday John!

Save Quinns a slice with Iron in it

  36. Kevin says:

My wife made a 1-up cake for a LAN party we had a few months ago.

    Key lime flavored! YUMMMMMM!

  37. DMJ says:

Careful, there may be magma at the bottom.

    Magma is a funny word.

  38. Miranda says:

There’s some cool gamer cakes on the Cake Wrecks blog. They usually make fun of poorly decorated cakes, but they have a weekly ‘Sunday Sweets’ column where they post the non-wrecky cakes.

    Nice Minecraft cake btw :)

  39. Xbolt says:

Cake I made myself for my 18th birthday:

Most unoriginal idea ever, but I was pretty pleased with it. (The other people at the party were too.)

  40. jaak says:

lol i have to admit your GF has built an amazing cake… little squares are soooo difficult to make…. Did she give you a spade to eat it with since its all dirt?

  41. Tei says:

    My ex-girlfriend was a creeper.

  42. Bozzley says:

My friend made me a companion cube cake a while back, but the photo of that was a casualty of the infamous “wiped the old hard drive before installing the new one” calamity that I don’t like to talk about. If she still has the photo of it, I’ll post it up later. Sniff.

  43. Nova says:

    Happy Birthday, John.

  44. Lambchops says:

Happy birthday and enjoy the cake.

  49. Brumisator says:

I want to steal Mr. Walker’s girlfriend for myself.

But that’d be rude, especially on his birthday. consider this my present to you, J.W Congrats!
