Twitch Dress Code Requires, Y'know, Dressing

INT. TWITCH HQ - EVENING

A fledgling Twitch streamer is preparing for a date with their regular audience. Twitch HQ notices them about to start broadcasting and decides to intervene.

TWITCH
Streamer get in here.

STREAMER
What's up Twitch-daddy?

TWITCH
What the hell is that?

STREAMER
A dress!

TWITCH
Says who?

STREAMER
Calvin Klein.

TWITCH
It looks like underwear, go upstairs and put something over it.

STREAMER
Duh, I was just going to...

THE END

And by that we mean broadcasting service Twitch has added a dressing appropriately section to its rules of conduct to clarify what is and isn't acceptable attire for people using the site to stream games.

"Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing - including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments - is prohibited, as well as any full nude torsos, which applies to both male and female broadcasters."

The explanation offered in this section of the rules is "let's try and keep this about the games, shall we?" It feels like an effort to clamp down on those channels where the host's state of undress was perhaps more of a draw than the game being played. FYI game characters are allowed to be in the nuddy but that can't be the main focus of the game or the stream.

Twitch didn't actually go the Clueless screenplay route with their update (MORE'S THE PITY), although they did explain that ripped gentlemen should confine their bare six-packs to "the beach during a 2-on-2 volleyball game blasting 'Playing with the Boys.'"
