Cod Blops 3 PC Tweetdeets: FOV And Dedicated Servers

Anti-cheat too

Tweets from developers dumping details are a bit like bubble gum wrapper trivia facts, aren't they? You won't be fascinated and enthralled, you won't learn the deepest secrets of the darkest beings, but you might raise your eyebrows a little, but approvingly, and at the back of your mouth grind out an approving throaty vocalisation like "Mmh!" or "Hhhoh!" or "Hmm!" or "Hrmmm!"

Now we've chewed the Cyberbazooka Joe gum of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 [official site] in that trailer, it's trivia time, with wrapfacts on dedicated servers, field of view, and other touchy issues.

Treyarch's director of technology Cesar 'pcdev' Stastny read the facts aloud on Twitter:

"BlackOps3 PC will use 100% dedicated servers for all ranked matches. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.)" says he "This is how we do it." As for unranked, they're not talking about it yet. On with the trivia parade!

"I don't like FPS caps on PC, unless necessary for balance or server performance in ranked matches..." he says in two parts, "BlackOps2 = uncapped in SP/ZM, max 200 in MP. It's too early to say what we can do in BlackOps3, but that's my thinking on the topic."

As for field of view settings, "BlackOps3 will ship with an adjustable FOV slider. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.)"

They're planning to have it ooze graphics options too.

Following a question about anti-cheat tech he replies, "BlackOps1 had TAC 1.0. It was ok. BlackOps2 got TAC 2.0. Best in class. BlackOps3 will have TAC 3.0 - major upgrade."

Okey dokey. That's most of the hot topics covered within one single pack of gum. Now watch how big a bubble I can blow.
