Rogue Legacy devs announce Full Metal Furies

Team up with yourself and others

Full Metal Furies [official site] is a brawler from the people responsible for Rogue Legacy where "cooperation is the key to victory". This even extends to solo play where you're able to swap between characters as a kind of one-person team.

As per the official site:

"An abstruse allegorical action adventure about atonement, allusions, and alliteration awaits all at an alternate age around Athens' ashes."

The gals who make up the Furies seem like the sorts of people Alice and I would go drinking with during their downtime. They might also be better at the game of punching each other in the leg after a few beers than, for example, Brendy. In-game they cover the usual bases of tankiness, snipe-iness, tech-iness and shield-owner-iness.

If you go for local or online multiplayer you'll each play as someone different on the team but if you want to go solo you pick two characters and quick-swap between them as you play to take advantage of their different skillsets. Other games have dabbled in that - most recently the MXM moba springs to mind.

If you're after story, here's what they have to say on that front: "An extended war of succession amongst the Titans has brought the world to the brink of extinction. After a brief respite another one is on the horizon, and the Furies must stop it at all costs."

Full Metal Furies

Their site actually has a whole bunch about what you can expect if you play but I was skimming the FAQ and thought I'd add this in case you were interested in how it might measure up to Rogue Legacy:

"Like Rogue Legacy, there's a very high skill ceiling for this game, and the RPG mechanics of the game allow people of varying skill levels [to] beat the game. If you're really good, you could beat it at level 1 (good luck with that though)."

"Full Metal Furies handles equipment a bit differently.Instead of merely improving your stats, all equipment change your core skills as well. So equipment can drastically alter the way a certain class plays. But it always pays to experiment, as the more variety of equipment you use, the more mastery you can gain."

You can expect Full Metal Furies at some point this year. Cellar Door are stressing Windows 10/XBone crossplay but Steam is also mentioned.
