No Man's Sky: How To Make Warp Cells

One of the most important energy sources you’ll come across in your No Man's Sky journey is the warp cell. These power your hyperdrive - one cell is good for one hyperdrive jump, and hyperdrive jumps are how you get from one star system to the next. If you’re going to make any significant distance in No Man’s Sky, you’ll need to craft a lot of warp cells, so here’s what you need to know.

A warp cell is made from 100 units of Thamium9 and 1 unit of Antimatter, which is itself a crafted product. Antimatter is made from 50 units of heridium, 20 units of zinc, and 1 electron vapour, which is another product made of 100 plutonium and 1 suspension fluid, which is another product made of 50 carbon. You need blueprints to craft all of the above, obviously.

All the materials in the tree that eventually leads to Antimatter are relatively common, but they take up a lot of inventory space. When you have a bigger ship it may be practical to keep large stores of this material on hand, but otherwise, it’s probably best to jump into the tree at whatever tier you can afford by buying the components ready-made at the galactic market. The average value of Antimatter is pretty steep at 48,000 units, but the average value of electron vapour is much more reasonable at 4,900 units. If you want to start at the bottom, the average value of suspension fluid is 1,100 units.

Warp Cells are important, but there's a lot more to craft and collect in No Man's Sky. You should also learn how to get an Atlas Pass, how to efficiently gather resources, and learn about No Man's Sky's resources generally. You'll also probably want to increase your ship and exosuit inventory slots. Or hit up our No Man's Sky guide hub for more.
