Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 swings to PC on March 7

THWIP!

Capcom have announced a release date of March 7th for the long-overdue PC version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [official site], bringing us up to date with their comics vs. computers crossover fighting game before the new MvC Infinite hits later this year. MvC3 is coming to PC five years after its initial release, packing all the DLC characters. Given that MvC Infinite will take the series back down from 3v3 to 2v2 and seemingly has fewer mutants, it's nice that we're finally getting this one.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a fighting game which, obviously, pits Marvel Comics characters against folks from Capcom games. Expect folks from X-Men, Avengers, Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy and so on going up against that rabble from Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Darkstalkers, Mega Man, and all that. Or fighting with them, if you want. Each player picks a line-up of three pugilists, each with their own health bar, then you get down to it. ZAM! BIF! KAPOW!

I do like how colourful and silly it all is, not even the Marvel of the modern movies - the world of their '90s Saturday morning cartoons. The contrast between this and the super-serious, tedious tone of DC Comics biff 'em up Injustice is quite something. That DC mob have some funny ideas about the funny pages.

Anyway! Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is coming via Steam on March 7th, priced at $24.99 or whatever that is in real money. £900 by then, for all I know.
