Forza Motorsport will 'reimagine' the racing series
No word yet
Microsoft today announced the next Forza zoomy racing game, which it seems they're calling simply Forza Motorsport. Re-using old game names is very en mode. This mysterious new game is still "in early development" but they call it "a reimagining of the series", without saying what that really means. Very importantly for a next-generation game, it will be all sorts of shiny. But don't worry, it is coming to PC too. Here, come watch the announcement trailer for some very shiny cars.
They say that footage is captured "in-engine"
"We are taking what has made Forza Motorsport great over the past 15 years and pairing it with new game concepts and new technologies," Microsoft say in today's announcement. "With the new Forza Motorsport, ray tracing is coming to ForzaTech, you will see a dynamic world in 4K, 60fps, that is connected and dynamic – from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, to brilliant red paint bouncing off intensely detailed track surfaces, and the interplay of light and shadow throughout the world."
Is that a way of saying it's a battle royale? Wait, hang on, Forza Horizon 4 already did that.
It's being made by Turn 10 Studios, who created the series. No word yet on when it will launch but it'll be on Windows 10 as well as Xbox Series X, and will be on Xbox Game Pass.
