MachiaVillain plots its way into RPS Cave of Wonders at Rezzed

This week we'll be taking a closer look at what's going to be in the RPS Cave of Wonders at Rezzed! Let's turn our magnifying glass towards... MachiaVillain!

MachiaVillain [official site] is a horror cliché inspired evil mansion management challenge where you use the grand traditions of horror movies to build your reputation as Villain City's premier piece of ghastly real estate. It's the brainchild of Wild Factor who you might remember from Freaking Meatbags.

Starting out with a spot of empty land near an unimpressive forest, the game invites you to use regulation wickedness (as stipulated by the League of Machiavellian Villains) to boost the terror factor of your abode. It's essentially like trying to game an evil version of TripAdvisor while staying off the radar of SWAT teams who might swoop in and close you down.

The interesting thing about MachiaVillain is how it wants to use your knowledge of horror tropes to help you advance in the game, thus you need to set up crypts for vampires and pools for sharks while also keeping in mind the traditional gory ends for different types of visitor. Apparently, harvesting the brains of keen readers is one top tip – apparently they're the juiciest.

EGX Rezzed 2017 runs from 30 March – 1 April at the Tobacco Docks in London (nearest stations are Shadwell and Wapping). You can pick up Rezzed tickets here and don't forget there's also the RPS mixer in association with The Signal From Tolva which should be really a lovely and friendly gathering :)
