Pathologic teases trailers and a demo for Kickbackers

Let's plague

The remake/reimagining of Pathologic [official site] is being teased in some ongoing trailers this week, possibly to remind us that it still exists and is on target for an Autumn release next year. Meanwhile, some Kickstarter backers are getting a playable demo featuring a chunk of the plagued town-in-progress. Was the original Pathologic good? Was it horrific? Unfortunately, no one on earth knows the answer, as confusion and unsettled thoughts invade the mind of anyone who attempts to talk openly about the surreal videogame… event͠uall͟y͠ …... succùmb̵ing to………a ca͠tat͘o҉n̶ic̷ ………. s̠̣͉͈t̥̖̠u̷͍̰̗̱͇̦̻p̞͘o̹͕͓̝̗̮r͚̰͍̘͓̩ …………….

Excuse me. Here’s the first teaser they’ve released. It’s got crows.

Developers Ice Pick Lodge will be pooping out a small video like this every day this week. More significantly, the demo will be sent to backers on Friday – but only to those who pledged $80 or more. If that’s you, you’ll be able to explore “a region of the town”. Folks who gave $45 or more will also be able to play an early version “at a later date”.

Of course, Adam already said all this to you when he told you about the creators’ plans a couple of months ago. You don’t remember though. Perhaps it is for the best.

The final game itself is going to be different from the Pathologic you (half) know, as Ice Pick Lodge have previously told us. There will be some survivalist ideas thrown in there but the core idea remains . You’re exploring a plagued town in a limited time (you’ve got 12 days) trying to cure people and understand the problem while avoiding your own death.
