Adam's trousers haven't been the same since he glimpsed top-down survival horror Darkwood. His favourite britches, woven from Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher's eyebrow hairs and blessed by Morrissey, are now in a box and buried in consecrated ground. It was the overwhelming flood of terror juice he experienced at the indie RPG's trailer. If you'd like to help the development team ruin pantaloons everywhere, they now have an IndieGoGo pitch.
Darkwood's a mixture of old-school horror with new-school tricks. Procedurally generated levels filled with randomised action, but with a camera at an angle that'll show off your bald-spot. A breathy, panicked character scouring a world for whatever meager rations and supplies there are, then barricading himself away from whatever is out there. Permadeath seems to be hidden in every shadow. Being overwhelmed and having to scour and hide still one of the most potent notions in horror, and that noise you can now hear is the chord the game struck. Ooh, rumbly.
They're nearly at $10,000 of their $40,000 goal, with 23 days to go. Imagine the horror you'd experience in their sanity troubling, randomly generated world? Now imagine the horror they're experiencing watching the fund for their game slowly drop in. These guys will know what true terror is at the end of the month, mark my words.

And here's the original trailer that so en-soddened Adam's breeks.
