Joke For Sale: Arma 3 Karts Is Real DLC And Out Now

April fools' gold

April 1st can be confusing enough already, and it's only going to get harder if things that were jokes once upon a time continue to make the leap to really-real existing games. Last April Fool's day, Arma 3 creators Bohemia Interactive released a go kart parody of a Volvo Truck advert. Now they've released Arma 3 Karts as a piece of DLC, out today for £1.19 on Steam and with a portion of the proceeds going to the Czech Red Cross. The original trailer is embedded below.

This is the original video released on April 1st, which now acts as a trailer for the DLC:

If you're not familiar with it, the video was parodying this Jean-Claude Van Damme advert for Volvo Trucks. It proved popular, and the Arma engine is so malleable that I suppose there's no reason not to implement the thing for real after creating the models. So here we are.

The DLC comes with a driveable karts, a starter pistol "weapon", a set of models for players to use in the creation of their own tracks, a simple time trial mode and everything you'd need to use the materials as part of your Zeus missions.

If this trend continues, pretty soon Blizzard will making an entire World of Warcraft expansion inspired by their panda April Fools' jokes.
