Ice to meet you! Next Street Fighter V character is Kolin

A promotion!

The next pugilist joining the Street Fighter V [official site] roster is someone old, someone new, someone bearfriendly [nice -ed.] and someone blue. Capcom have announced that they're elevating background character Kolin to playable status, sending her out to ice fools with her cryokinetic powers. She was first introduced in 1997's Street Fighter III as the personal assistant to one of those Illuminati naughties but will throw her fur hat into the ring on February 28th. Here, check out her chilly moves in this trailer:

Here's what Capcom say about some of those moves you're seeing:

V-Skill: Inside Slash

Kolin's unique counter allows her to deflect and automatically punish incoming moves with ease.

V-Trigger: Diamond Dust

With a full V-meter, Kolin can slam the ground twice with her foot, each time shooting out a path of sharp icicles across the floor. In addition to damage and stun, this move freezes the opponent's stun gauge. While in this special state, the stun gauge will not deplete and if Kolin is successful in stunning the opponent, they will be frozen in place.

Critical Art: Frost Tower

Kolin dashes forward with a slice of her hand. If the attack connects, she'll continue summoning large icicles from the ground, throwing the opponent into the air and shattering the ice to drop them to the ground.

In the usual Street Fighter V way, Kolin will be unlocked with the 'Fight Money' virtuacash earned by playing. Impatient and minted players can choose to unlock Kolin -- and other upcoming characters -- by paying £24.99/29,99€/$29.99 for the Season 2 Character Pass, which also includes some costumes.

Capcom say they're keeping an eye on Street Fighter V's balance and have some changes in the works. Expect an announcement on that in March.
