Killjoy confirmed as Valorant's next Agent

Let’s pretend we didn’t see this coming.

Killjoy is definitely Valorant’s next Agent. If you didn’t catch the news earlier this week, Riot accidentally leaked her abilities page before today’s planned reveal. So, err, we had a very good idea of what she can do.

Anyway, for those that missed it, Killjoy’s an engineer Agent who can deploy turrets, throw AoE grenades which root enemies, and set sneaky explosive robots on unsuspecting enemies.

Here’s a look at all of her abilities - officially this time.

  • Alarmbot - Equip a covert Alarmbot. Fire to deploy a bot that hunts down enemies that get in range. After reaching its target, the bot explodes, applying Vulnerable. Hold Equip to recall a deployed bot.
  • Turret- Equip a Turret. Fire to deploy a turret that fires at enemies in a 180 degree cone. Hold Equip to recall the deployed turret.
  • Nanoswarm- Equip a Nanoswarm grenade. Fire to throw the grenade. Upon landing, the Nanoswarm goes covert. Activate the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots.
  • Lockdown (Ultimate)- Equip the Lockdown device. Fire to deploy the device. After a long windup, the device Detains all enemies caught in the radius. The device can be destroyed by enemies.

If you want to see Killjoy in action, we’ve linked her reveal trailer just below.

We’re definitely fans of her design, but we’re unsure if turrets have a place in a tactical shooter like Valorant. Hopefully it doesn’t deal too much damage and acts more like a scouting tool, otherwise we're certain it's going to upset plenty of folks.

Riot currently hasn’t announced when we’ll be able to play as Killjoy, but we imagine it’ll be at the start of Act 2 which’ll likely begin within the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye on the site for all the latest!
