There It Is: Metal Gear Revengeance Finally Dated

Ride the lightning

We've known for a while that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (because why have one meaningless subtitle when you can have two and invent a new word) would eventually turn its helicopter-bifurcating blade on PC, but that's all we've known. Like a ninja or secret agent from any series other than Metal Gear, Konami's been pin-drop silent on details. BUT NO MORE. Metal Gear Rising: The Redundancing now has a Steam listing, and it offers a just-close-enough-for-comfort January date.

The game will be out on January 9th, and it'll run you $29.99. However, despite not being out yet, it's currently on Steam sale for $19.99. I think that is some kind of release-to-sale record, and also a TIME PARADOX.

The comically over-the-top (and also quite good) actioner is making up for lost time in the form of a few rather piecemeal goodies, though one definitely has my attention.

"This new PC version includes all three DLC missions: Blade Wolf, Jetstream, and VR Missions, in addition to all customized body upgrades for Raiden, including: White Armor, Inferno Armor, Commando Armor, Raiden’s MGS4 body, and the ever-popular Cyborg Ninja."

"GRAPHIC OPTIONS added to the OPTIONS Menu. Modify resolution, anti-aliasing, etc. There is an option reading ZANGEKI that will modify the amount of cuts you can make."

Do you know what this means? In theory, if your PC can handle it, you can cut people/bipedal nuclear tanks/watermelons into infinity pieces. Or at least, that's how I choose to interpret this information. I really, really hope I'm right.

Beyond that, it bears repeating that MGRR was one of the most acclaimed action games of 2013, so its quadruple pirouette spin flip onto PC is probably worth getting excited over. Are you ready to cut the entire world into perfect, Jello-cube-like chunklets?
