Fights, right? Battlerite new character due Wednesday

Bloodline-y

Battlerite [official site], the arena brawler presumably named after an all-night brainstorming session when a producer murmured "So you, like, er, battle, right?" and the room erupted into applause the exhausted producer couldn't understand, this week welcomes a new warrior. Raigon, The Exiled Prince is a chap swinging a honking great sword, and I'm led to believe he's another Battleriter based on a character (Reaver this time) from the game's spiritdad, Bloodline Champions. Stunlock Studios have also announced the first official tournament, coming later this month.

The Exiled Prince will arrive in Wednesday's update, which will kick of Season 2 and also overhaul matchmaking and rankings a little. Here's what Stunlock say about Raigon:

"Raigon is a flexible melee character, skilled in two-handed swordsmanship and martial arts. He was a well-respected figure among the kingdom's warriors, until he was exiled due to the manipulations of Pestilus. For now, the arena serves as a decent place to find work and set the wheels in motion for his retaliation."

Wait. Would you say he gets his "rage on"? Stunlock, you geniuses, you've done it again!

As for that tournmanet I mentioned, it's named 'Enter The Arena''. Stunlock have already picked several teams to invite but will also hold open qualifiers for a few spots. Players can sign up over here. The finals will be on February 25th and 26th, packing a prize pool of $10,000.

If you're curious about this battle, right, check out the words associated with young Matthew Cox's bold declaration that, "If you've ever enjoyed a teamfight in a MOBA, I can guarantee you'll get a kick out of Battlerite."
