Timely! Democracy 3's Electioneering Expansion Released

This mess we're in

Dearie me, Positech Games have been lucky. While the UK's political situation stumbles into chaos on all sides, like a Three Stooges skit full of pratfalls and kicks up the jacksy, Positech have launched the Electioneering expansion for political strategy game Democracy 3 [official site]. What convenient timing! The expansion lets players campaign to win elections and maybe I'm getting ahead of myself with this ha-ha-hilarious satire given that you need candidates before anyone can go electioneering.

Electioneering will send players on the campaign trail, giving speeches, making pledges in manifestos, raising funds, currying public favour, and doing goofy publicity stunts. Ahh I don't... it's Friday evening, would you kindly just watch this trailer and spare me from thinking about this mess we're in:

Electioneering is available from Steam, GOG, the Humble Store, and direct from Positech. It'll cost you about £4.

I used to think politics games weren't nearly nuanced enough to simulate how governments, elections, and electorates work. Now I worry that they think too much of us.
