Hearthstone: Hallow's End 2018 guide - Start dates, Headless Horseman, Dual Arena and more!

What to expect from this year's spooky celebrations.

The Hallow's End celebration returns to Hearthstone a little later on this month, and will temporarily see the Dual Class edition of Arena take over the format for the duration of the event.

Hallow's End begins on October 17th and runs through to October 31st. It will reward players with a golden edition of Witch's Cauldron when they log in.

The Headless Horseman Tavern Brawl will also be in play once again, and a handful of enemies from The Witchwood's Monster Hunt single-player content will also appear in a separate Brawl.

In this event guide we've gathered together all of the information you need to know about Hallow's End 2018. We'll update it between now and the start date to make sure it's got all the latest information that you need.

Hallow's End Overview

Here's the basic information so you know what to expect:

  • The Hallow's End start date is October 17th. The end date is October 31st.
  • Players will receive a golden copy of Witch's Cauldron if they log in during the event.
  • The Tavern will be dressed up in Halloween decorations and players will be able to make use of unique emotes as well.
  • The Dual Class Arena system is returning for a limited period of time. Pick a hero and a hero power, then draft your deck.
  • There'll be two new Tavern Brawls during the event. One features the Headless Horseman from last year's version of Hallow's End. The second one will start a handful of creatures from The Witchwood's Monster Hunt.
  • You'll be able to purchase a new Paladin hero as part of a new card pack bundle once the event goes live.

The Headless Horseman Rides!

In this special Tavern Brawl you play the part of a Stormwind Investigator, tasked with tackling the Headless Horseman.

Your deck consists of many Stormwind Champion cards, but before you start the encounter you must first choose a costume. Here's what's available:

  • Cat Costume - You'll receive a cat-based deck with a Passive: Whenever a non-Boss enemy survives damage, summon a 1 / 1 Cat.
  • Pirate Costume - This provides a lot of Pirate minions for your deck and you get Captain Cookie too.
  • Witch Costume - This is a spell-heavy deck. If you've the Mana to make it happen, your spells cost twice as much but go off two times.

You'll need to beat the Headless Horseman using your costume of choice. He has 30 Health and a three mana hero power which does two damage, split among all enemies.
