Bridges The Gap: Poly Bridge Out In Early Access
Take it to the bridge.
Building bridges is hard. Both in the physical and metaphorical sense. Dry Cactus’ new game Poly Bridge [official site] tasks you with helping vehicles of various shapes and sizes across watery chasms using World Of Goo style physics systems. It's out in Early Access now.
Poly Bridge looks like a pretty decent physics based puzzler in the vein of the ancient Bridge Builder and the more recent 3d Bridges. Unlike those dry and austere equivalents, the graphics in Poly Bridge remind me of those floor mats with the town layouts on them. You know, the ones everyone had when they were wee, with the big roads and the wooden cars. There's scope to build silly structures, with lifts and multiple paths and hot air ballons. The game comes with a level editor too, for building your own puzzles, which looks straightforward to use.
The trailer does a good job of setting up expectations, so watch it below if you’re interested in creating stable river-spanning structures. Or if you’re interested in watching cars and trucks plummet to their sunken doom. If it makes you want to take yourself to the bridge, the game is available through Steam for £9/$12/€12.
