Wild Giants Hunter is a Hearthstone deck archetype that's jam-packed with some of the biggest, most expensive cards in the game. Thanks to cards like Naga Sea Witch and Bright-Eyed Scout, however, you can now set the base value of Sea Giant, Clockwork Giant, Mountain Giant and Molten Giant to five Mana before the extra discount provided by each of these cards is applied.
The end result is a phenomenally powerful board presence at relatively early stage of the game. Your opponent will very often struggle to contain your intimidating threat before you get the chance to slam some exceptional damage into their face, ending the match very quickly. Mulliganing this deck really isn't complicated, and we recommend keeping King's Elekk, Coldlight Oracle, Doomsayer and Stitched Tracker.
Wild Giants Hunter tips, combos and synergies
If you've not played this kind of deck before, it's worth taking a little time to do some advanced reading on the kind of combos you have to play around with here. The following should contain plenty of tips and tricks to get you going with the deck:
- When King's Elekk is played, one card from each deck will be drawn and compared with the other. If yours costs more than the opponent's, that card will be added to your hand.
- Try to thin the board down however you can in order to ensure that Deadly Shot takes out a preferential target. If you can use your weapon or a minion to clear something minor out first, consider doing so.
- Bright-Eyed Scout and Naga Sea Witch both have the potential to bring the cost of your biggest minions down to five Mana. From there, any additional reductions - such as the Mountain Giant's relationship to your hand size - will be applied. This very often results in a free giant for the board!
- When Loatheb is placed onto the board, your opponent's spells will cost five Mana more. Try to time the use of this for when your opponent might have access to a board wipe, and you want your heavy giant presence to get its chance to smash their damage in on the next turn.
- When you play Deathstalker Rexxar, two points of damage will be inflicted against every enemy minion, and you'll gain five points of Armor as well. You also get a new Build-A-Beast hero power which lets you blend the stats and Mana cost of expired Beasts together.
- Sea Giant costs one Mana less for every other minion on the board. Those can be your minions or your opponents - they all count!
- Mountain Giant costs one Mana less for each card in your hand. Similarly, the cost of Clockwork Giant is reduced by the number of cards in your opponent's hand.
- Molten Giant's cost is reduced for each point of damage your hero has taken.
