Assassin's Creed Odyssey Hippokrates: how to complete the side quests

Athens is full of famous Athenians and one of the more interesting ones is Hippokrates. Father of the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take when treating patients, he values human life above everything else, but he is certainly going through some philosophical dilemmas. In this guide, you'll find all the information you need to make informed decisions for him and how to complete his side quests.

Hunting Party

In Thebes, there will be a quest to complete where a hunting party was ambushed by vicious monsters. Hippokrates will ask for you to save them. In a nearby cliff close to Snake Head Rock - in the centre of the Cursed Land of Oedipous, you'll see a man being attacked by two bears. Kill them, then put the man on the back of your horse and ride back to Hippokrates.

Let my Patients Go

Hippokrates has an ethical dilemma as he recognises the man as a slave trader. Your hero can suggest that by freeing the slaves and saving his life, he can make a new start. The Melanippos slave camp is east of Lake Kopais, which is in the Boeotia region. Free the three slaves and avoid getting them killed by the guards. Upon returning to Hippokrates, he'll still be indecisive about whether to heal the man. Talk him straight to complete the quest. Hippokrates will then next be seen tending to a patient who wants to die. Refuse to kill the patient and you'll eventually be given a quest.

Inheritance Insurance

The old man - Pentheus, fears that his lineage is at stake, so asks you to steal treasures from a rival's house in order to ensure his family's future. Head to the Leader House of Thebes nearby and loot all the treasure chests, being sure not to get caught. Once you've done so, return to the old man. He will ask you to convince Hippokrates to kill him. Refuse and let him sleep. You'll get a Healer's Sash and some money for your trouble. Hippokrates will then beckon you over for a chat.

Too Much of a Good Thing

The hemlock that Hippokrates asks you to get is located near a bridge in the northern part of Plataia, close to your position. Head south out of town and across the bridge. Then head towards the river bank to find the hemlock. Upon returning, Hippokrates will ask that you grind the hemlock into the elixir, but not to add too much or the patient will die. Should you decide to add the right amount, you'll be able to recruit Hippokrates into your crew. You'll also get the Physician's Helmet as a reward for completing the quest.

That's all the side quests for this questline. Head on back to our Assassin's Creed Odyssey side quests guide for more information about another quest-line or another region's set of side quests.
