QuakeCon: Rage is All The Rage
We're not out at this year's QuakeCon, currently turning downtown Dallas into a frenzy of happy meatheadness, because we all have a pathological terror of large, whooping Texan men. Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell is a far bolder fellow than we however, so he is out there, and already he's wheedled some tasty facts on id's next game, Rage, out of project lead Tim Willits. Who has apparently shaved off his moustache, which by my maths makes id 75% more attractive.
Pertinently, Willits clarifies to what extent Rage is a vehicular combat game and to what extent an FPS, offering futher hints that id's days of corridor-pounders may at last be behind them: "[Rage has] a variety of gameplay that is no longer just run-and-gun."
He also lets slip that the release date is not as far out as 2011. Read the full story here, and keep an eye on EG's front page in a couple of hours' time for their live-bloggification of the press conference, at which new Rage footage is expected. Maybe even some Doom 4 - y'never know.
Here's the most recent Rage trailer, in case you missed it last time
