Best Grau loadout in Warzone

The Grau is one of the best weapons when it comes to sheer accuracy. Kitted out correctly, this thing will barely sway at all. Of course, you can use this gun in a variety of ways, so here’s a couple different attachment combinations for the Grau 5.56.

Best mid- to long-range Grau 5.56 loadout in Warzone

The go-to classic for the Grau is this absolute laserbeam setup. Here’s the attachments to go for:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4” Archangel
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Magazine
A long-range Grau build in Warzone

Like most ranged builds for assault rifles, you’re putting on the longest barrel you can and a Monolithic Suppressor. In this case, you want the Tempus 26.4” Archangel as your barrel. They’ll both increase your damage range significantly, and the barrel will even help your recoil and bullet velocity, meaning you don’t have to lead your shots as much.

The VLK 3.0x is the go to long-range optic on Modern Warfare weapons. The Grau does have the cleanest iron sights in the game though, so you can grab a Tac Laser for the ADS speed if you prefer.

The Commando Foregrip works wonders for your accuracy, so get it on there once it’s unlocked.

To make sure you have enough bullets to take out whole enemy squads, chuck on the 60 Round Mags too - the worst thing in Warzone is getting caught short with no bullets in the chamber.

Secondary weapon

This Grau is a beast at distance, but you'll need help up close. Make sure it’s paired with an SMG or FFAR 1!

Best close-range Grau 5.56 loadout in Warzone

So, this might not be the number 1 Grau loadout in Warzone, but if you fancy trying to play in a more close- to mid-range way, it might be worth trying. This is pretty off-meta, but off-meta is a fun way to play!

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor (Level 58)
  • Laser: Tac Laser (Level 52)
  • Stock: No Stock (Level 51)
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags (Level 39)
  • Rear Grip: XRK Void II (Level 22)
This Grau 4.45 loadout has the Monolithic Suppressor, Tac Laser, No Stock, 60 Round Mags, and XRK Void II attachments on it.

We’re going with a couple pretty drastic changes to this loadout. Instead of a barrel, the No Stock attachment is here, vastly improving your overall mobility at a cost to accuracy. To compound this, we’ve also chucked on the XRK Void II rear grip.

You’re still using the Tac Laser for its ADS time improvement, and remaining silenced on the minimap remains vital so the Monolithic Suppressor is still here.

Secondary weapon

Of course, if you are planning on running this offbeat Grau, do have a longer-ranged weapon on hand too. The Kar98k is a solid option here, or another ranged AR like the CR-56 AMAX. If you’re feeling extra saucy, feel free to switch the ammunition attachment to the 50 Round Mags, which will help your mobility a bit with the obvious ammo capacity penalty.

Best Grau loadout with Perks and Equipment

The Perks and Equipment sometimes play a big part in deciding the outcome of a given situation. Here’s what you should pick:

  • Perk 1: EOD
  • Perk 2: Ghost
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade

EOD is particularly powerful, especially since a lot of people have started using lethals like Semtex and Thermite. It’ll protect you from a blast and give you the opportunity to fight back when you otherwise might not have been able to. It’s the same story as usual with the second perk - Ghost if you already have a good secondary, Overkill if you don’t. Recently, I have seen some people run Restock to go along with aggressive playstyles, but for most players I’d suggest sticking to Ghost to stay off the radar and Heartbeat Sensors. Amped is the final perk to choose, because it’ll allow you to switch weapons nice and fast, giving you that extra split-second which could be vital in a gunfight.

Equipment-wise, I’ve gone for Semtex on this class, although it does really boil down to personal preference. That quick explosion can give you an unexpected advantage in a scrap though. Stun Grenades are brilliant too, as you can take out disoriented enemies without them being able to move properly and counter you.

How to unlock the Grau in Warzone

The Grau was available on the Modern Warfare battle pass a while back, so if you haven’t unlocked it yet you’ll need to complete some challenges. This one is pretty tough but far from impossible. You have to eliminate 5 players with an assault rifle in a minute, 25 times. This is obviously a lot easier in Modern Warfare, but it’s still possible in modes like Plunder or Rebirth Resurgence. Stick with it and you’ll be able to get your hands on the Grau - our friends at Metabomb have some advice on this specific mission.

Of course, you could always head into the Store tab and buy a pack with the Grau 5.56 using real life money. It’s ‘Assault Rifle Juliet’ if you’re looking.
