Texts From Rezzed: The Afternoon

Pip, John, and Adam have, as far as I know, survived their day at Rezzed. If you’re hoping to hob-nob with them at the RPS Rezzed Mixer tonight (from 7pm – now – at The Captain Kidd) you’ll want to brush up on your chit-chat. What did they see? What did they do? How appalling are pie prices in That London? How nice is the RPS Rezzed booth? How spooky are the ghosts? Read on for more of the messages they sent me today.

Texts From Rezzed: It Begins

Half of RPS is in That London this weekend for EGX Rezzed, Eurogamer’s show where we’re up to all sorts of things. We have a little RPS booth with a selection of games we dig, we’ll be chatting with with some devs, and we’ll hit the pub tonight. If you’re at Rezzed, go check it out! (The pub’s open to all comers, mind.)

For those of us who aren’t there, well, Adam, Pip, and John are sending me little updates to share with you and capture some of the magic.

Friday Night Lights: The RPS Rezzed Mixer

Maybe you’re a veteran of the RPS Social Club or maybe you’re preparing to travel to Rezzed hoping to meet some fellow RPS readers for the first time. Either way, if you’re going to be at the show, you’ll be able to meet friends old and new, and some RPS writers as well, at the RPS Mixer in Association With Robocraft. As the name suggests, the event is sponsored by Freejam, creators of Robocraft, and we’ll be gathering from around 7PM on Friday at The Captain Kidd pub, a short walk from the Rezzed venue.

EGX Rezzed Starts Tomorrow And RPS Will Be There: Here’s Our Selection Of The Best Games & Talks

Rezzed is heading to London again this year and if you’re lucky enough to be there, you’ll see the best in gaming. There will be loads of games to play, loads of talks and panels to attend, and loads of cardboard conversations to be had. Below, you’ll find some hand-picked highlights, including appearances from team RPS, talks from the likes of Larian, Campo Santo and The Creative Assembly, the RPS games room, and an evening in the pub with some of our writers.

If you’re down at Tobacco Dock during the show, do say hello. We promise not to bite, provided Helsing’s Serum does its job between now and then.

Forever Undead: Dean Hall And Indie Stone Talk Zombies

Mid-way through Rezzed, I decided that somebody must have cloned Dean Hall. The DayZ creator was everywhere. One minute he was talking about the most frightening moment of his life – hanging off the side of Everest, I hear – and the next he was playing games on the showfloor. If he wasn’t admiring Maia with an excited twinkle in his eye, he was telling interested parties about how much he digs Project Zomboid. The man loves games and since he has so many interesting things to say about them, we should be thankful that he enjoys talking about them quite as much as he does. One panel involved The Indie Stone folk and Hall talking about zombies. They offer a defence of the oft-maligned enemy and it’s often compelling. Behold.
