Valorant Ascent map callouts and tips

Learn the callouts that everyone should know on Valorant's latest map

Ascent is the latest addition to Valorant's burgeoning pool of maps. Set in Venice and aiming to ease the transition for FPS players from other games with its familiar layout, there's still a lot to learn about Ascent and how to play inside its boundaries. Our Valorant Ascent guide will walk you through the map and all its callouts, along with various tips and tricks on winning rounds and matches in this new battleground.

Ascent callouts & map walkthrough

Below is a map of Ascent annotated with every single callout that a Valorant player should know. These callouts will help you to communicate quickly and effectively with your teammates.

Valorant Ascent callouts

Certain of these callouts are "official" names that you can see when you bring up the map in-game, but many others are unofficial and designed to be more precise and intuitive for yelling positions and instructions to your teammates.

Ascent mobility map & points of interest

Our second map of Ascent marks various points of interest that are unique to this map. I've also marked in red the areas that can only be reached using abilities.

Yes, you can reach the top of A Tetris and Generator without using abilities. Just jump onto them from Heaven.

Ascent will feel more familiar to Counter-Strike players than Bind, Haven, or even Split. There's a lot of symmetry in the pathways to various locations, which makes learning the map fairly straightforward. From either spawn you can head straight to one of the two sites, or take one of two paths into mid - which itself offers an additional path to each site.

But the key difference between Ascent and other maps is its use of activatable doors. The switch near each of these special doorways can be activated, bringing down an armoured door that closes off the direct path from mid to that bomb site. You can use the switch again to open the path back up, and you can also shoot the doors to destroy them.

Another unique feature of Ascent is the glass window separating Garden from Heaven next to A Site. This transparent glass window can be shattered with a single attack from any weapon, opening yet another pathway - at the cost of revealing your position with the sound of shattering glass.
