Who is featured on the Genshin Impact banner in Version 2.7 (Phase II), and when will it go live? Genshin Impact works on a gacha system, where players can spend various in-game and real-world currencies to Wish on a character's banner in the hopes of obtaining a playable version of them.
While many characters are permanently available as potential pulls from the gacha, others — usually 5-star characters — are only available during limited periods as part of Character Event Wish banners. Every Character Event Wish banner features one 5-star character and three 4-star characters with a massively increased drop rate, and the 5-star character is often unique to the banner and unobtainable in any other way.
On this page, we've compiled everything we know about Genshin Impact's current and upcoming banners, including release dates and times for the next banner changeover. Further down the page, we've included some information about characters who are available to purchase from the current and upcoming stock in Paimon's Bargains.
Genshin Impact: current event banner
The current Character Event Wish banner in Genshin Impact for Version 2.7 (Phase II) is Oni's Royale, featuring the first rerun for popular event-exclusive 5-star character Arataki Itto since his introduction in December 2021. Additionally, the banner features the debut of Kuki Shinobu, Itto's right-hand woman and the game's latest 4-star addition. She'll be exclusively available from this banner for the duration of Itto's rerun, but will join the standard wish pool in Version 2.8.
Featuring with boosted drop rates alongside Kuki Shinobu are existing 4-star characters Gorou and Chongyun. Chongyun has been a part of Genshin Impact since the base game; while Gorou made his original debut alongside Itto, and appropriately enough is returning as a featured character for the first time here.
This banners has been available to wish on since June 21st at 6pm BST / 7pm EDT / 4pm PDT, and is expected to end on July 12th at 3pm BST / 4pm EDT / 1pm PDT.
See below for full details on the characters with increased drop rates on the current banners:
- Arataki Itto (5-star)
- Kuki Shinobu (4-star, new)
- Chongyun (4-star)
- Gorou (4-star)
Genshin Impact: future event banners
Looking further ahead, MiHoYo have confirmed that Version 2.8 can now expected on July 13th. No word yet as to which Character Event Banners we can expect, but there's been an announcement of another new upcoming character (likely a 4-star) — an Anemo vision holder named Shikanoin Heizou who, incidentally, will be the game's first male Catalyst weapon user — who may well debut on V2.8. All this will probably mean that Version 3.0 and the addition of Sumeru now happen later in the summer than we'd been predicting, but without firm details we can't confirm anything at this time.
Paimon's Bargains and the Starglitter Exchange
Wishes and banners aren't quite the only way to increase your party roster in Genshin Impact. There is another corner of the in-game store where you can potentially get your hands on some new playables. Check out Paimon's Bargains for a regularly rotated stock of common 4-star characters you can purchase outright in exchange for Masterless Starglitter, a currency generated from pulling duplicate characters and high-end weapons from the gacha.
The Starglitter Exchange features two characters every calendar month, and though they're a little pricey at 34 Masterless Starglitter each, this is a guaranteed purchase rather than a gamble. For June 2022, the characters in the Starglitter Exchange are Barbara and Kaeya.
Paimon's Bargains seem to work on a regular half-yearly rotation, so here's who we can likely expect to see on offer in the Starglitter Exchange over the next few months:
- July 2022: Fischl and Xiangling
- August 2022: Beidou and Noelle
- September 2022: Ningguang and Xingqiu
- October 2022: Amber and Razor
- November 2022: Bennett and Lisa
