Cyberpunk 2077’s female V has a new default look

Seemingly to mark International Women's Day yesterday, CD Projekt Red unveiled a new default look for Cyberpunk 2077's female protagonist option. The two Vs will be yours to pick from with reversible box art too, they also confirmed. This V has flipped her parting, pinked her hair up, gained some piercings, and lost some makeup - an easier look for rolling straight out of bed…

CD Projekt are now valued as the second largest game company in Europe

That scrappy Polish studio that developed a computer RPG based on the monster hunting novels by Andrzej Sapkowski is all grown up. CD Projekt, parent company of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 developers, are now valued as the second largest gaming company in Europe, beat only by Ubisoft.

Cyberpunk 2077 will hit GeForce Now the day it’s released

Cyberpunk 2077 may have been delayed, but when we finally get our hands on it in September we'll be able to play through it at launch on GeForce Now. GeForce Now is Nvidia's cloud gaming service which will let you stream games you already own, rather than having to buy them on a new platform. If you pay for GeForce Now membership, it also means…

Updated: Nvidia unveil Cyberpunk 2077 graphics card, and now we need new cybernetic eyes

Update: And here it is in all its mildly heinous yellow glory! As you can probably see from the front of Nvidia's new Cyberpunk-ified GPU (provided its intense yellow hasn't blinded you), this is just a special edition of their regular RTX 2080 Ti graphics card rather than a whole new launch or RTX Super reveal. The good news, though, is that it won't cost…

As Cyberpunk 2077 is running late, here’s a broad spread of cyberpunky fun

Now that Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed from April to September, what are you to do? You've grown a lurid blue mohawk, your leather jacket is almost worn in, and your prescription mirrorshades are ready for collection at Specsavers - but for what? You might as well use this time to explore all games cyberpunky, from edgy and nihilistic griping about how the future sucks to…

Feature: 2020 vision

2020’s most exciting new PC games

Over the break we had a chance to do some serious scientific study of this business we call games, and it turns out that games are actually good. 2020 in particular has a healthy mix of big budget bonanzas and smaller indie plates to suit everyone's discerning tastes. And, as you know, the RPS treehouse is the most discerning, so to make it easier for…

Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer now unlikely to come before 2022

Following last night's announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed from April into September, CD Projekt gave a wee update on when we should expect its mysterious multiplayer aspect: probably not until 2022, at earliest. They'd never said when to expect the project (which is officially codenamed Cyberpunk Multiplayer) but we do now know when not to expect it. The Witcher devs also expanded on why…

Cyberpunk 2077 delayed into September

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed until September 17th. CD Projekt Red announced on Twitter today that, while technically playable from start to finish, Cyberpunk wouldn't be ready for its planned release on April 16th. There's a bit more work to be done polishing the streets of Night City, and the team needs a few more months to get it done. Sorry, Keanu.

Here’s all the news and trailers from the Game Awards

Like a heavily-sponsored Santa Claus, the Game Awards swept in last night and left us a pile of presents to unwrap. If you did the smart thing and slept through the event, you'll have missed a bunch of new announcements. Alice O and Graham did some amazing work in writing up as much as they could as it happened, but a few sly games snuck…

No, Cyberpunk 2077 hasn’t confirmed microtransactions in multiplayer

Let's get this out of the way: CD Projekt Red really haven't confirmed much regarding Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer. They know it's happening (eventually) but what that looks like, or when it'll happen? Not even Keanu knows. Last week it was reported that CDPR may know one thing for certain - CP2077 multiplayer would be monetised, and include "well thought-out" microtransactions. However, it looks like the…

Cyberpunk 2077 shows more of the tools literally in your hands

I've been trying not to follow Cyberpunk 2077's marketing too closely, as much as my job allows, because I want to discover Night City fresh-ish when I finally get to visit it myself. I am glad to have briefly broken that to watch a new 14-minute explain-o-vid, because three neat images caught my eye. If your V has superarms, they'll pop open in a delightfully…

Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith on turning his tabletop game into Cyberpunk 2077

The so new it's not even out yet hotness in games is still Cyberpunk 2077, but as the name suggests, it's not the original Cyberpunk. Although there aren't 2076 previous entries, there is a robust and well loved tabletop roleplaying game to thank for the existence of CD Projekt Red's upcoming RPG. The TRPG was written by Mike Pondsmith, the founder of publisher R. Talsorian…

Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City strives to be a unique and grounded cyberpunk city

Marthe Jonkers is a senior concept artist at CD Projeckt Red working on Cyberpunk 2077. Jonkers actually designed the location in the first very first teaser trailer for the game back in 2013, featuring the cyberbabe with mantis arms, and was resigned to the fact that nobody was really looking at the building behind her. Jonkers' team work on locations and interiors, and even the…

Cyberpunk 2077 might secretly be a cool hacker stealth game

Reader, I often tire quickly of the bangs. The shooties. The click click booms. I think it's because damn near every action game has guns, but not many developers make shooters really bloody good. And indeed, I agree with Matt that, at least from what we've seen so far, the guns in Cyberpunk 2077 look mostly like floaty number generators. And yet, as was pointed…

Feature: Every Stadia game coming at launch and beyond

Every Google Stadia game announced so far

Google held another one of their Stadia Connect conferences today, and this one was meant to be all about what games you'll be playing in the "scary" cloud come November. Sure enough, there were new Stadia games aplenty announced this evening, with the biggest addition being Cyberpunk 2077. To help keep track of them all, here's a list of every Google Stadia game confirmed so…

Feature: Now with added Minecraft and Dying Light 2

All the Nvidia RTX ray tracing and DLSS games confirmed so far

It's Gamescom this week, which can only mean one thing - more confirmed ray tracing games for Nvidia's RTX and selected GTX 16-series graphics cards. Indeed, the big one that's just been announced is Minecraft, which (like Quake II RTX) is getting full, real-time ray tracing support for everything from water reflections to its entire lighting system. That's not all, though. Dying Light 2 will…

Podcast: The Gamescom 2019 warm-up

The German Play is happening next week, or Gamescom, as you may have heard it called by uninformed proles. The big games show will see a few of the RPS treehousers zipping off to Cologne to breach and clear the whole city of all its games, like a well-oiled unit of militant journalists. On this week’s podcast, they prepare themselves for the mission. Thumbs…

Feature: The devil's in the details

Cyberpunk 2077 release date, trailer, news and gameplay

With Cyberpunk 2077 making a grand appearance at Gamescom 2019, it's about time that we ran an update to our neural sensors as to what has been happening with the game. The game had a rather eventful E3, with not only the Cyberpunk 2077 release date being announced, but also that "John Wick" himself Keanu Reeves has now been confirmed as having a large part in the game.…
